New House of HIV foundation

Inspired by the 2022 exhibition of the same name, which highlighted 40 years of community initiatives in the Netherlands, the newly established House of HIV foundation continues to archive and document Dutch HIV history.

The dream is to eventually create a physical House of HIV, where the past, present, and future of (living with) HIV can come together.

In the coming years, the foundation aims to collect more stories from people who witnessed the early years of AIDS up to the advent of effective HIV treatment in 1996. A second phase of this initiative will focus on testimonies from 1996 to the present.

All stories will be accessible in the community archive yet to be built on houseofhiv.nl.
